Holiday in SA – Durban
旅の最終目的地、バイロンの家族のいるダーバンへ向かいました。バイロンの育った町や学校を案内してもらったり、クロッコダイルパークへ連れて行ってもらったりしました。100歳になるというワニが腹ペコな様子でしたヨ。また、ダーバンビーチでBMWを発見！これは砂で作った車です。ナイジェリア人などが出稼ぎのために南アフリカにやってきて、こうして砂浜でアートを作成しているんだそうです。
On our final stretch of the news, we decided to stay with Byron’s families. The hospitality was out of the world and we thoroughly enjoyed staying with them.
They showed me local area where naughty B brought up. We also went to a PheZulu crocodile park. There was a huge 100 year old crocodile which was the length of a car and looked very hungry… eek! We found a BMW on Durban beach! It is made from sand though. Mainly people from Nigeria seem to come to South Africa for working and make those art on the beach.
バイロンのお姉さん一家にも滞在しました。こちらではブライと呼ばれる南アフリカ特有のバーベキューをご馳走になりました。バーベキューの本格版といった感じでしょうか。南アの肉は美味しいです。また、ビーチにも連れて行ってくれて、アフリカンマスクやオーナメントなどを購入しました。
We also spent with Byron’s sister’s family having my first ever South African BRAAI (bbq). It was yummy! They took us to the beach where big market was held. We bought a lot of african ornaments.
これだけでは終わりません・・。今度はバイロンのお父さんが時速195キロのバイクに乗せてくれました。また、最高のお天気の中、自家用ヨットでセーリングに連れて行ってもくれました。ダーバンは港町。港を行きかう各国からの船が往来するのを眺めながらのランチです。
Our holiday has not finished yet… We spent a few days with B’s dad who took us for a ride on his super quick motor bike (195km/h!!). He also took us sailing on his yaught in Durban harbour. The weather was on our side and we got sun burnt! We watched a coupld of ships coming into the harbour.
今回のホリデーはなんとも充実した2週間で、天気の悪いイギリスに戻ってからどんよりと気分が落ち込んだのは言うまでもありません。何アの家族、いろいろなところに連れて行ってくれてありがとうございました:-)
This holiday was really busy and enjoyable. We got depressed as soon as we arrived dark cold England… Thank you very much for the great hospitality everyone in SA
