会社の同僚Kotokoさんのお誘いで、Kotokoさんのダンナさま、Davidさんのご両親のお宅へお邪魔しました。場所はロンドンから車で6時間のところにあるLake Districtです。丁度ご両親がホリデー中で家が空いているとのことでご招待いただきました。金曜日の仕事の後、2台の車で出発し、到着した時には夜中の1時を廻っていました。
One of my colleague Kotoko invited us to go to her husband David’s parents house in Lake District while they were on holiday. It is about 6 hours drive from London. We headed off after work on Friday, so arrived there after 1am…

Davidさんはハイキングが趣味で、あいにくのお天気の中でも山谷を延々と歩いていきます。目的地に到着した頃には全身びしょぬれになっていました。私とバイロンにはなかなかない行動力に驚きですが、かなり快適な達成感を味わいました。
Hiking is one of David’s hobby. Despite bad weather, he kept walking walking and walking through valleys and hills, and yes we of course followed him. By the time we got the final destination we were completely soaked. His determination is respectable indeed… However, the view was absolutely stunning and it was worth the do!

KotokoさんもDavidさんもお料理がとても上手です。夕食は地元で取れた新鮮なお魚をご馳走になりました。楽しい週末をありがとうございました
Both Kotoko and David is really good at cooking. They cooked fresh fish which we bought at a market in a town. Yummy! Thanks for the lovely weekend!!
