Croatia – Dubrovnik 2
ドブロブニク2日目です。部屋はかろうじてオーシャンビューです！ロクロム島も見渡せました。まずは旧市街が見えるホテル内のレストランで朝食です。ホテルには屋外プライベートプールもあり、ここから海に飛び込むことも出来ます。
2nd day in Dubrovnik. Our room was an ocean view room, and could see Lokrum island too. First of all we had breakfast at a hotel’s restaurant where you could see the Old city. There was a private pool on the ground floor from which you could jump to the sea.
今日はボスニア・ヘルツェゴビナの境界線にある丘に登ることにしました。この丘の上には1991年の戦争の際に兵隊さんたちが戦った場所が残されています。ここへは徒歩、または車で行くことしか出来ないので、タクシーで行きました（250クーナ）。大砲などで壊された後が残っている建物の中には、当時の様子を伝える写真やミサイルなどが保管されています。また、テレビでは当時の戦争の様子を見ることが出来ましたが、白黒ではなくカラーであったことや、あまりにも鮮明に写されているので、まさか今目の前に見えるドブロブニクが火の海と化していたとは信じられませんでした。
Today we decided to go up the hill which is a border line with Bosnia and Herzegovina. There was an army base of 1991′s war on the hill. As there was not accessible by bus we took a taxi there (250 kuna). The building of old army base is now a musium which displays pictures and videos of the war. The video on the TV screen was very clear and not black and white but colour (of course it was just 15 years ago..), I just could not believe that the view of Dubrovnik I have been seeing was actually targeted with thousands of bombs.
丘からは旧市街を含むドブロブニクが一望できます。この反対側はボスニア・ヘルツェゴビナの山々が見渡せます。
From the hill, you can get a full view of Dubrovnik. The other side is mountains in Bosnia & Herzegovina.
さて、本来であればここまで連れてきてくれたタクシーで下まで戻れるのですが、この丘を歩いて降りることにしました。ジグザグの道で、戦争当時は兵士が夜ここを登ったそうです。このジグザグ道には14個の十字が置かれています。今でもここにろうそくの火を灯しているようです。下るのは20分足らず・・と聞いていたのですが、休み休み歩いたので結局1時間かかってしまいました。「ハイホー！ハイホー！」と歌いながら陽気に歩いていたのですが、最後の方には足がパンパンになってしまいました・・・。
As we saw most of things, we decided to go back to the city. You can generally go back with the taxi which brought you here, but we instead decided to walk down a zigzag path which were used by army. There are all in all 14 crosses on the path, and still now on people seem to lit a candle here. We heard that it would take only 20 min or so to go down, but it took 1 hour for us walking very slowly. Initially we were singing ‘hiho-! hiho-!’ but at last our feet were swollen and by the time we got the city we were exhausted!
その後は一気にビーチまで下り、海で一泳ぎしました。水がとってもきれいです！ドブロブニクのビーチに砂浜はほとんどなく、岩場が海水浴場となっています。
In order to relax our feet, we jumped into the see afterwords. The water was absolutely beautiful!! The ‘beech’ in Dubrovnik was unfortunately not a sandy one but rocky one…
そして旧市街で夕食です。なんとホテルの朝食をたっぷり食べたため、夜の7時頃まで空腹感を全く感じませんでした。フラフラと歩いているとセレナーデが聞こえてきたので、ここのレストランに決めました。ここではイカ墨スパゲッティーをオーダー。これも美味しい！暗かった上に黒い料理なので写真があまり美味しそうではありませんが・・・。
Time for dinner! As we had plenty breakfast at the hotel, we didn’t get hungry at all till 7pm or so. While walking down the street in Old city, we heard a serenade from one restaurant, so decided to have dinner here. I had Squid Ink spaghetti. This was very yummy too! As it was dark already and the dish was black color, it doesn’t look very appetite in the photo, but it was indeed delicious.

今日もキャッシュを求めてハンティングをしました。まず一つ目はこの岡のテッペンに隠されていました。
ここに隠されていたジオコインと、UKのとある場所で見つけたジオコインを交換しました。
We did geocaching today too. First one was hidden here, on top of the hill. We exchanged geocoins with the one we found in the UK.
二つ目は先ほど泳いだビーチ（岩場）が一望でき、夕日がと～ってもキレイな場所にありました。丁度キャッシュを見つけたときに、なんと他のジオキャッシャーと遭遇しました！彼らはベルギー出身で、クロアチアを旅行しながらキャッシュのある場所を訪れているんだそうです。以前にはイエメンの砂漠の中でキャッシュを見つけたことがあるそうな。彼らはエキスパートですね。
The second one was here, full view of beach and sea we just jumped into. Just after finding the cache, we bumped into a Belgium couple who were also looking for it. They said they were travelling all over Croatia and doing geocaching at the same time. They also seemed to have found one in the desert in Yemen! They are an expert geocacher!
