滞在期間中はほとんど、ShelleyとBryanがあちこち連れて行ってくれました。この日はダーバンから車で1時間くらいのところにあるサファリパークへ行きました。ここには危険動物はいないのでとってものどか。車から降りてピクニックが出来ます。ウェディングを開くのも人気があるそうです。
Most of the time of out visit, Shelley and Bryan took us to lots of places. Today we went to a game reserve called Tala which is about 1 hour by car from Durban. As they don’t have any dangerous animals here, we were allowed to do a picnic. This place is also famous for being able to held a wedding.

ライオンパークにも立ち寄りました。

そして翌日はダーバンに数年前に出来た海沿いにある大きなUshakaマリンワールドへ。ここは屋外プールと水族館が一体となっています。まずはスイミングプールでありったけの滑り台と日焼けを楽しみ、イルカショーを見ました。
The next day we had a great time in Ushaka marine world on Durban beach. There are an aquarium and outdoor water pools & slides in the area. First of all we headed to a pool and took all kinds of slides, then went to watch a Dolphin show.

そして水族館へ移動です。水族館は古い船を改造して造られ、内装もとてもアーティスティックで、錆びれたイメージを出すために船内のシャワールームやトイレなどを不気味な程上手に演出していたり、木箱や鎖なども置かれていました。各タンクもそれぞれ船に関連したテーマで飾られていました。萎びれたロンドン水族館とは雲泥の差。南アフリカは貧富の差がとても激しい国ですが、シティ近辺にいる限り先進国に引けをとらない洗練さがあります。また、この船内にある、サメタンクを見ながら食事の出来るレストランは常に予約でいっぱいなんだそうです。
Finally we headed for an aquarium. It is made with a big old ship and the inside is very arty. To make atmosphere being in a ship, there were chains, wooden boxes, showers and toilets which are generally used in a ship. Also each tank had different theme related to a ship. It was beyond my expectation. London aquarium (very old and not interesting at all) was no way to be able to be a comparison of this one. Differences of the rich and the poor is very huge in South Africa, however, as long as you are in city you feel as if you were in very sophisticated developed country. An restaurant within this ship where you can enjoy meal with looking at a shark tank seems to be fully booked everyday.
その後ビーチへ散歩に行くと、3年前にも見かけた砂で出来たモニュメントがあちこちに飾られていました。バイロンが「今から10分程度で何か作って、そこにMIKAって名前を入れて」って頼んだら、なんとかわいいイルカちゃんが完成しました。これは素敵！ということでかなり大目のチップをあげたら、宝くじにでも当たったかのように大はしゃぎをして喜んでいました。きっと1週間分の生活費くらいにはなるのでしょうね。
In the evening we went for a walk to the beach and found sand monuments. Byron requested the guy to create a special monument within 10min or so and put a name of MIKA there. Look this, a pretty dolphin was created with my name on it! We gave him relatively good tip so he was over the joy as if he won a rottoly. It will help him to survive over 1 week, I assume.
極めつけは、夜のダーバーンビーチです。きれ～～～！！！と思わず叫んでしまいました。
At last, it is the Durban beach! Beaaaaaautiful!
